you notice about Tallahassee is its natural beauty—the rolling hills, majestic oaks, lush canopy roads, and sparkling lakes. It’s hard to believe all this unspoiled nature is found in a bustling Capital City.
The Capital of Florida, Tallahassee is located in North Florida about halfway between Pensacola to the west and Jacksonville to the east. Tallahassee is home to Florida State University, Florida A & M University, and Tallahassee Community College. We are a diverse and vibrant area with so much to offer—everything from fishing to the symphony, from football to city life, from hiking on nature trails to enjoying a broadway play.
Very close to Georgia (it’s only about 6 miles from my house), Tallahassee’s long-time slogan has been “Tallahassee—Florida with a Southern Accent”.
